I am switching careers!
I am not taking on new doula clients.
From September 2024 and on I only work with repeat clients.

Who is Matilda Lindén CD(PALS)?
A little bit about me.

Baby girl A, 2 hrs old. *Posted with permission.
I am a certified birth doula and have attended over 230 births in and around Seattle since May 2010.
I was born and raised in Sweden and have lived in Seattle since early 2002. I currently live just south of Seattle with my wife and teenager.
I became passionate about pregnancy and birth when I was pregnant with my child, born in August 2009. After reading book after book, being active in my online community, taking prenatal yoga classes and birth classes, I realized that this was something that I wanted to keep working with after the birth. I just didn't want it to end.
I took the Birth Doula Training at The Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations at Seattle Midwifery School, now at Bastyr, in January of 2010. I have been certified with DONA International and am currently certified with PALS Doulas.
When I'm not working I spend time with my family. Throughout the years my kid and I have read the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson books together, and are now working our way through the Merlin series, and watching the Marvel movies. We sing a lot together, and the instruments in our house are played daily. We also really like going on adventures in and around Seattle.
I love practicing yoga. I don't think that I would have been able to go through my very, very long labor without the breathing and relaxation techniques that I learned on the yoga mat. Yoga keeps me grounded, and strengthens me physically and mentally, both of which are very important in my role as a doula.
Music has always been a passion of mine, and I went to Cornish College of the Arts and graduated in 2007 as a jazz vocalist. I am currently a member of Ancora, a women's choir in Seattle. Don't be surprised, I might sing a little tune during labor or in a postpartum meeting!
My wife, Andrea, and I enjoy taking our dogs for walks, watch movies, spending time with our friends, cooking (and eating!), and occasionally going on a motorcycle ride.
